100 Years!

Early Livingston Watson picnic

Our 100th reunion was held over two days this summer — August 4 and 5 in Livingston, Wisconsin.  It started at 1:00pm on Friday the 4th at the United Methodist Church.

The next morning (Saturday, August 5th), the day's events started with a 10:00am memorial service at Rock Church outside Livingston. As usual, there was a potluck luncheon back at the Methodist Church at noon followed by a short meeting and a presentation by historian Glen Belbeck on Sam Livingston, a prospector and early settler of Calgary who was a first cousin to Hugh Livingston, founder of our community of Livingston. We heard Sam's life story after he left Wisconsin.  We then continued our celebration in the evening at the Montfort Community Center for a social gathering with a catered meal and live music.

See the 2023 Reunion page and the 2023 Newsletter for more info on activities. Please note that the email address listed for the Livingston Watson Family Association should be livingston.watson.WI@gmail.com, and not what is listed in the 2023 newsletter

In the late 1700s, five branches of Livingston/Levingston and Watson families settled in Avoca, Carnew, Bolinahaney and Newtownbarry in Counties Wicklow and Wexford, Ireland. All lived within twenty miles of each other, but after more than 250 years, descendants can now be found all over the globe.

Since 1923, the Livingston Watson Family Association ( Livingston.Watson.WI@gmail.com) has celebrated its heritage by sponsoring a family reunion held in August each year in Livingston, Wisconsin, USA. This website brings together much of the family history, photos, news clippings and genealogical research that has accumulated over the years.

New Facebook page

In the past we had two pages which were confusing to people, and there were also issues with non-family members joining. In order to make our page more secure, we have created a group page in which you have to click to join. The older sites have been deleted from Facebook.  It wasn't allowed to transfer your names from the older sites so you must sign up for this one.  You can search for the new site by this name: LIVINGSTON WATSON WISCONSIN FAMILY

Just click on Join.  If there are any issues, please contact me.
